Work

Government of Jersey

The Government of Jersey redesigned its back office functions and restructured Directorates linked to Treasury in a bid to be more efficient and impactful with public funds. Part of the project included a digital transformation programme to implement SAP Ariba to improve the experience of working with, or selling to Government.

We worked with the Commercial Services Team, which incorporated all purchase-to-pay departments, to define how they could communicate what they did and explain the relationship between the function and the new implementation. The product was a communications strategy incorporating a new set of guiding values and a vision that the team, their colleagues and those that supply Government could hold dear, summarised by the tag line “Buying Advantage”.

“Buying Advantage” communicated an internal message that the Commercial Services team could offer those spending money on behalf of Government an advantage via its systems and processes, whilst communicating an external message that the Island as a whole was at an advantage through spending public money intelligently. A neat double-entendre.

NHS

The NHS National Programme for IT was one of the biggest and the most expensive IT projects in history. Moving the NHS to a single electronic care record for patients and connecting 30,000 general practitioners to 300 hospitals was a huge change management and communications programme, not only for the NHS staff moving from paper records to digital records but also for the thousands of contractors working on the project.

We designed and delivered internal and external communications programmes working with NHS trusts and internally within BT, one of the largest contractors involved in the project. From media relations on one of the most scrutinised IT projects of the 2000s, to internal and change management communications for the thousands of BT staff working on the project, to training and project management for the NHS on deployments, we were involved in changing how the NHS worked.
